Attendance on 12th Plenary meeting of UN-GGIM-AP(November, 2023)

The 12th Plenary meeting of the United Nations Global Geospatial Information Management for Asia and the Pacific was held at the Discovery Kartika Plaza Hotel on 6-10 November 2023, in Bali, Indonesia, hosted by Geospatial Information Agency of Indonesia (BIG).

 

The Plenary meeting was held as a significant event at the Asia-Pacific Geospatial Forum (APGF 2023), whose theme is “Embracing Geospatial Innovation for Sustainable World”, aiming to enable all the geospatial practitioners in the global and especially Asia-Pacific to share their innovations in geospatial information related to global initiatives for a sustainable world.

 

This plenary meeting consists of an International Seminar, Geodetic Reference Frames and Applications for Disasters Workshop, IGIF workshop, Regional Capacity Development Workshop and the 12th UN-GGIM-AP meeting, which will offer a remarkable opportunity to exchange knowledge, experiences and capacity building concerning geospatial innovation among member countries, thereby enhancing expertise and proficiency in the field of geospatial information.

 

NGII served as vice president of WG1(Geodetic Reference Frame), WG3(Integrated geospatial inforamtion and stastics), WG4(integrated geosptial information framework).

Especially, Dr. Jongshin Lee(Researcher) and Dr. Hyojin Yang(Senior Researcher) who served as vice presidents WG1 & WG4 presented on “Geodetic Activites of NGII“ and “Earth Observation Satellite for Disaster management in South Korea”.

 

The delegation of the 12th  consisted of NGII and related field experts. NGII successfully served as the leader of the delegation following the 11th Plenary meeting last year.

 

13th Plenary meeting of UN-GGIM-AP shall be held in the second half of 2024 in India.
