Holding a Technology Workshop for building the African Resource Geospatial information Pilot Project

A technology workshop took place in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania, from August 30 to 31, 2022. The aims of the workshop were to deliver the final results of “Building the African resource geospatial information pilot project” and promote continuous cooperation in the field of African resource data construction.

 

On the first day of the Workshop (August 30), six surveying and geological organizations from Tanzania, Mozambique, and Zambia, and the African Union participated to celebrated the successful outcomes of “Building the African resource geospatial information pilot project” that started since 2015 by handing over the results, reviewing the project, and having a Q&A session.

 

On the 2nd day (August 31), the participants discussed the action plan for expanding “Building the African resource geospatial information pilot project” and the sustainable cooperation methods regarding Korean spatial data construction technology. Also, NGII, AUC, and AMDC signed an MOU for the follow up project for sustainable growth of the project and retaining Korea’s initiative.

The NGII has successfully completed handing over the final outcomes of the pilot project that has been promoted since 2015 through the technology workshop, and formed amicable relations with the African Union and partner countries. NGII has established a bridgehead for Korean companies to enter Africa by transmitting Korea's excellent geospatial information technology and establishing a cooperation system.
