The Canada-Korea Conference on Science and Technology &

Meeting with Canada Centre for Mapping and Earth Observation

The Canada-Korea Conference on Science and Technology(CKC), a multidisciplinary event bringing together experts and leaders from academia,

industry, and government to discuss science, technology, and innovation, was held from June 16th to 20th 2024, in Banff, Canada.

At the 2024 Conference, NGII and SpaceN engaged in a comprehensive discussion on the aerospace sector and

introduced Korea’s geospatial information organizations.

In parallel with the conference, NGII and the Canada Centre for Mapping and Earth Observation(CCMEO)

explored potential areas of cooperation, including the possibility of signing an MOU in the near future and

ways to collaborate with the newly established Canadian geospatial information industry promotion agency.

A promotional booth was set up at the venue, providing an opportunity to interact with local science and

technology organizations, as well as Canadian and Korean scientists and engineers.

This year's CKC 2024 brought together more than 500 scientists and engineers from Korea and Canada to network

and explore policy development strategies related to aerospace and geospatial information.

NGII aims to continue collaborating through the MOU, addressing social issues, and responding to core tasks through joint efforts and shared goals.
