Dear NGII, I am a contributing author at Citizendium (http://en.citizendium.org/wiki/User:Chunbum_Park) I^m currently working on an entree about South Korea (http://en.citizendium.org/wiki/South_Korea), and the article needs high resolution political & physical maps of Korea. I could easily use the maps provided at Wikipedia, but it is my official policy as a Citizendium author to produce articles that are superior to those of Wikipedia. I also checked a map from the CIA Factbook, but it was too small & the some of the labeling needed to be changed (i.e. Sea of Japan--> East Sea, Liancourt Rocks --> Dokdo ; in the Japan article, they should be Sea of Japan & Takeshima). I am assuming that the maps offered by NGII are copyrighted since I am required to ask for permission before using the maps for publication. Citizendium can host maps that are in the Public Domain (everyone can use it for any purpose) or are licensed under Creative Commons (free to share as long as the author is given credit... etc) & also if it is given special permission. Could 1 of the 3 possibilities be acceptable to NGII? Thank you very much.
